How to make polypack Mehandi / Heena Cone:

  • Take a rectangular piece of a polypack foil. Fig
  • Roll in left hand upper corner of the foilto make the rolled in portion get into a cone shape. Fig [2].
  • Now wrap on the rest of the foil around the cone so as to make a firm cone. Fig [3].
  • Pour henna paste into the cone. Fig [4].
  • Fold the open end of the cone and seal it with tape.

How to apply Henna / Mehandi:

• Take a quantity of fine henna powder which is readily available in any Indian market. Filter the powder through muslin cloth a couple of times.
• Squeeze the juice of two lemons in a bowl. Add dozen drops of mustard oil in it.
• Put filtered henna powder in the mixture. The entire mix should look like a thick paste. Leave it to season for two hours.
• Pour the seasoned henna paste into the henna cone. The cones are available in the Indian market also.
• Squeeze lemon juice in another bowl. Add sugar to it to make it sticky. Apply this mixture to the area where the henna is to be applied with a clean cotton patch. It will keep the henna paste glued to the applied areas.
• Apply henna in desired pattern. Keep it glued in that pattern for six hours. Scrap off the dried henna after that period. Now apply mustard oil in the henna painted area. This area should be kept off water for atleasteight hours. This will help henna colour season into pleasing deep brown colour. There you are.
